This shady garden had an old slate pathway that needed revamping. With the help of stone mason Rob Mackenzie, we decided on a white cement spiral surrounded by the recycled slate pavers. While the white cement was still wet, the family’s chickens decided to walk all over it, leaving a Hollywood-style chicken ‘walk of fame’. We added the family’s handprints and now the pathway remains to be discovered and interpreted by future archaeologists.
