Here co-creators and Rob Mackenzie worked with Haydn Ellis to design and build this garden in Bantry bay. The entrance court is populated with 3 Quinine trees which are beautifully offset by the gray walls. We designed and detailed an articulated stair and landings through the space offering place to pause. Sandstone “seams” installed by Rob balance the architecture and assist with tricky retaining and drainage in the space. The clients enjoy a natural pool by Eco Pools. Co-creators assisted with the design of the pool. At the bottom of the site we designed a tree-house into the 2 large existing Wild Fig trees. The deck was built by Pete Louw. In the narrow lane outside the kitchen we designed and built timber boxes to be clipped onto the wall. These are constructed with marine ply, fiberglass within and clad with decorative timber on the outside. Tough semi-shade plants are planted here. We love Todias and Blechnums.
