In this Camps Bay project we designed a Koi pond with granite stepping stones. A Frangipani tree was craned into a planter constructed within the pond area. Dedicated drainage and irrigation are key when creating an installation such as this. Steel boxes support a vertical garden on either side of the waterfall. Under the main lawn we created a drainage system to harvest irrigation water to a basement tank. This water is re-used on the lawn. The guest suite on the roof enjoys a roof garden. Here we used endemic Fynbos to survive the tough Camps Bay coastal conditions. The rehabilitated public area of mountain in front of the house is further featured as a case study on this website.
