Designed and installed in 2017 this hotel garden in Plettenberg Bay is botanically playful. On this site we worked with Trees South Africa garden route branch to harvest many palms to a site nursery for 4 months. Palms, Yuccas and Screw Pines were then planted back into the garden during installation. Complementing them with grasses and succulents we aimed to create an “Elysian” style landscape. Paul Oosthuizen Architect designed a dynamic entrance canopy. We decided to plant 2 Cocos palms through this canopy. Where screening and bulk are required we used local indigenous bird attracting trees and shrubs. Sinuous white exposed aggregate pathways are offset against wild conglomerate boulders positioned by Rob Mackenzie. Contractor :-Graham van Hoesslin Landscapes. Irrigation by Brett Lapan, Sprinklers for Africa.
